The Olympics is one of my favorite times of the year (well, every couple years) and so I wanted to try to animate something Olympic themed. As I continue down the journey of learning motion design, I am trying to teach myself as many new techniques and skills as possible – so I thought I would try cell (frame by frame) character animation this time!
This animation was partially inspired by the impeccable work of Henrique Barone, Rafael Mayani, and Conor Whelan in their piece: Olympia. Maybe one day I’ll scratch the surface of their awesomeness!
As a bonus, here is a timelapse of my process as I bumbled along trying to figure out what I was doing! Take a looksy 🙂
